How to Configure Broadcast Message Permissions?

Modified on Sun, 9 Aug at 10:16 PM

As a Superadmin, you have full control over who can use the Broadcast Message feature in AOne Schools. This means you can decide whether Admins and Teachers are allowed to view, create, edit or delete Broadcasts Groups - or restrict them from doing so entirely.

How to Get the Permissions Page

  1. Log in to AOne Schools as a Superadmin
  2. Click on the Personnel module
  3. On the Admin Permission or Teacher Permission tab, find the Broadcast Message Row in the module list
  4. Tick or Untick the checkboxes to View, Create, Update, and Delete based on what you'd like to allow
  5. Once you're done making changes, click the Update button to save
  6. A confirmation will appear to let you know the changes have been saved successfully

Additional Notes:

  • By default, all Broadcast Message permissions are On for both Admins and Teacher when the feature first launches.
  • You only need to make changes if you'd like to restrict access
  • Permission changes only take effect after you click the Update button. If you close the page without saving, your changes will not be applied.
  • Only Superadmin can configure permission for Admins and Teachers

Understanding the Permission Type

There are four types of permissions you can turn on or turn off for the Broadcast Message module. Here's what each one controls:

View

Controls whether the user can see and access the Broadcast Group section

  • On: The user can access to the Broadcast Group list from the messaging page
  • Off: The user will see an error if they try to access it on Web App (Admin and Teacher), and on the Mobile App the Broadcast icon will be hidden from Teachers entirely

Create

Controls whether the user can create new Broadcast Groups and send new Broadcast Messages

  • On: The user can create Broadcast Groups and send Broadcast Messages
  • Off: The user will see an error if they try to create a group or message on Web App (Admin and Teacher), and on the Mobile App the options to create will be hidden from Teachers entirely

Update (Edit)

Controls whether the user can make changes to an existing Broadcast Group - such as renaming it, updating the description, adding recipients, or removing recipients.

  • On: The user can edit Broadcast Group details and manage the recipient list
  • Off: The user will see an error if they try to edit on Web App (Admin and Teacher), and on the Mobile App the edit button and recipient management options will be hidden from Teachers entirely.

Delete

Controls whether the user can delete a Broadcast Group

  • On: The user can delete Broadcast Groups from the list or from inside the chat room
  • Off: The user will see an error if they try to delete on Web App (Admin and Teacher), and on the Mobile App the delete option will be hidden from Teachers
