This guide covers how to open and download files, images and videos sent in a chat, and how to find everything shared in a conversation in one place. To learn how to send attachments, see How to Send Attachments on the Web App.
Note: Files and images are available on the Tier 1 Starter plan, and videos on the Tier 2 Pro plan. If you’re on the Free plan, there won’t be any attachments in your chats. Contact our Customer Service team to upgrade.
Viewing an Attachment
Files and images: click the item in the chat to open it in full view.
Videos: click the video thumbnail to play it in your browser.
Files that can’t be previewed (such as ZIP files) will download to your device instead.
Downloading an Attachment
Click the Action button ( : ) on the message with the attachment.
Select Download Attachment. The file will save to your device.
Finding All Shared Media and Files
Instead of scrolling through a conversation, use Media and Files to see everything shared in that chat in one place. To open it:
Open the chat and click the Action button at the top.
Select Media and Files. (Or select View Details, then click Shared Media and Files.)
Items are listed from newest to oldest. This month’s items appear under “This Month”, and older ones are grouped by month (for example, “March 2026”).
Media Tab
Shows all images and videos in a grid. Videos show their duration on the thumbnail. Hover over any item to see these options:
View: opens the image or video.
Download: saves it to your device.
Go To Message: takes you to the original message in the chat and highlights it.
Files Tab
Shows all documents and other files, with the same Download and Go To Message options. A View button also appears for files that can be previewed, such as PDFs and documents, but not for ZIP files.
Good to Know
An image or file may look blurry until it has fully loaded. You can still download it while it’s loading.
If a video is still loading, wait for it to finish before playing it.
