How to Send Attachments on the Web App

Modified on Thu, 15 Oct at 1:01 AM

You can send files, images and videos in any personal or group chat on AOneSchools. This guide covers what you can send, how to send it, and what to do if something doesn’t go through.

Note: Files and images are available on the Tier 1 Starter plan. Videos are available on the Tier 2 Pro plan. If you’re on the Free plan, you won’t see the attachment option. Contact our Customer Service team to upgrade.

You can attach up to 10 items in a new message, or 1 item when replying to a message.

Sending an Attachment

  1. Open a chat conversation (personal or group).

  2. Click the Attachment button beside the message box.

  3. Select File, Image or Video. Your device’s file browser will open.

  4. Select the item(s) you want to send. A preview will appear.

  5. For images, you can use the editing tools to adjust them before sending.

  6. Optionally, type a message or caption in the text box.

  7. Click Submit.

Adding more attachments

To add more items to the same message, click Add More Attachments in the preview area. New items are added to what you’ve already selected, up to 10 in total. This option is only available for new messages, not replies.

How multiple attachments are sent

Each attachment is sent as its own message. For example, selecting three images sends three separate messages. If you add a caption, it appears only with the first attachment.

If a Message Fails to Send

If a message doesn’t go through (for example, due to a slow connection), you’ll see a small error indicator on it. Click the indicator and choose:

  • Resend Message: tries again. If it succeeds, it appears as the latest message in the chat.

  • Delete Message: removes the failed message from the chat.

Good to Know

  • Items that are too large or in an unsupported format won’t be added to the preview.

  • If you select several videos and one doesn’t meet the requirements, the others will still upload.

To open, download or find files shared in a chat, see How to View, Download and Find Shared Files on the Web App.
